Community based tourism: opportunities for the Grota do Angico Natural Monument and the Jacaré-Curituba settlement proje
Abstract
It is known that tourism can be understood as an indiction element of socioeconomic development induction, since its implementation occurs endogenously and planned manner. This study aimed to analyze the deployment possibilities of community-based tourism in the Natural Monument Grota do Angico and Settlement Jacaré-Curituba Project located on the border between the municipalities of Poço Redondo and Canindé do São Francisco in the state of Sergipe. He sought to know how tourism is in place, the actors involved, while pointing out the potential development of community-based tourism that integrates the settlement and MONA. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, with field research, literature, documentaries, and interviews. The results allowed us to know the dynamics of tourism in the town and point out how the community-based tourism may ultimately contribute to improving the living conditions of the population living in the settlement, greater preservation of Conservation Unit, community participation and endogenous management and further development sustainable tourism.
