Abstract

Environmental Education (EE) has the task of promote environmental awareness and so motivates people's action to solve both the local and the global environmental problems. We briefly discuss international trends in EE and take a look of actual Latin American research context in the area. We introduce and analyze EE's research and its scientific production in Brazil and complemented with current data. We bring and discuss data from investigations developed by the Master in Regional Development and Environment of Santa Cruz Regional University between 2001 and 2014. We note that although judge the relevant environmental issues and the relevant EE, educators still do not feel qualified to lead -over there. At the end we perform a critical synthesis defending the idea that all education is environmental and that all teachers at any level of education, are able to act in the EE.
