Geobia classification applied to the wathershed management: case of wathershed of monte alegre stream

The watershed management adopts legal and technical mechanisms that applied in the territory aims to improve the environmental quality. Among the technical mechanisms the interpretation and classification of satellite images is widespread in planning studies. A possibility of classification, which becomes more important at the present time, is the GEOBIA (Geographic Object Based Image Analysis) which interpret beyond the spectral patterns of the image, form patterns of the objectives raised by the sensor, making more accurate the classification. Thus, when applied in high-resolution images RapidEye, the results are more detailed, making this classification method given to planning watersheds. The aim of this study was an diagnostic of the use and occupation of the stream basin Monte Alegre applying GEOBIA technical, testing its accuracy with points validated in field. The results showed that the watershed have more than 75% of its area occupied by some kind of human activity and validation of the classification obtained Kappa index of 0.85.
