The temporal dynamics of socio-environmental impacts in the Caveirinha River hydrographic sub-basin:
a case of landscape degradation in Goiânia (GO)
Abstract
The temporal dynamics analysis of surface and drainage system in a sub-basin allows to infer about the quality of its landscapes, in this sense, the Caveirinha River hydrographic sub-basin, underwent major changes linked to the intense urbanization process that caused impacts socio-environmental factors of different natures, permanently transforming its surface and its river channels. The objective of the research was to identify, quantify and qualify both the types of socioenvironmental impacts and the morphometric changes of the drainage network in this sub-basin, between 1992 and 2018, in order to infer about the efficiency and effectiveness of the public power in relation to the combat these impacts. The methodology involved as office work as field work to support the production of graphs and maps. The project indicated low efficiency of the public power in certain types of impacts, while others proved to be efficient even if not directly, since the effectiveness was considered high, since there was a real decrease in the amount of impacts of the erosion group despite this related to the urbanization process, such as: solid waste, projects, sediment bank and rectifications, efficiency was considered low, as there was an increase in these impacts types.
